Led the planning, fundraising and management for the most recent phase of restoration work at Coalhouse Fort, Thurrock.
Starting with the building of a new partnership and associated development of a vision for the Fort and Park, SBSA successfully negotiated Stage 1 and Stage 2 bids to the Heritage Lottery Fund, which in conjunction with other fundraising secured almost £1.3million for the project. This work enabled the refurbishment of the generator block to create a new café space, toilets and offices, with improved accessibility within the Fort itself and a 3 year education and community engagement programme. The delivery phase was successfully started up by SBSA.
