Thurrock Thameside Nature Park
SBSA and Resources for Change have been appointed by Essex Wildlife Trust to help develop the future strategy for Thurrock Thameside Nature Park.
We are delighted to have been awarded this opportunity, which builds on our efforts to facilitate positive change along the Thames. With this fabulous asset just a stones throw from SBSA HQ, this project holds a personal meaning too. We have a vested interest in helping ensure its future success.
Thurrock Thameside Nature Park has real magic and potential, summed up by its location. The site combines spectacular views of London Gateway Port where iconic cranes service the world’s largest cargo ships, juxtaposed with internationally recognised mudflats and wildlife. The view captures the essence of one of the most famous and celebrated rivers in the world – the Thames. If this latent potential wasn’t impressive enough, the fact that the acclaimed Visitor Centre building and surrounding Nature Park has arisen from a degraded and landfilled landscape exemplifies its striking impact on the regeneration of South Essex. Indeed, David Attenborough described it as nothing less than ‘a miracle’.
We cannot wait to get started.
